We regularly open the doors of the Grote Kerk for you, and you are very welcome to explore the interior. The spaciousness and natural light will undoubtedly impress you too. Also, take a moment to admire the beautiful interplay of lines in the chancel, and don't forget to look up at the ceiling painting.
Also, take a look at the various monuments inside the church and remember that the Knights of the Golden Fleece once walked here, regents and naval heroes are buried here, and crown princes and princesses were baptized here. In this remarkable building, which has defied the centuries, you'll find traces of very different periods in Dutch history.

The Grote Kerk (Great Church) is one of the oldest buildings in The Hague and therefore has a rich history and strong ties to the royal capital. The church has been the scene of many important events, such as the gathering of the Knights of the Golden Fleece and the Beeldenstorm (Beeldenstorm), but also more recently the christening of the Princess of Orange and Prinsjesdag (Prince's Day).
All these events have left their mark on this historic building. Discover the stories of the Grote Kerk during a tour and experience the serene tranquility of the church amidst the bustle of The Hague's city center. The Grote Kerk is open for viewing Thursday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, unless the church is rented for an event.
You're not a resident of The Hague if you haven't climbed it at least once: The Hague Tower. The medieval tower near the Grote Kerk (Great Church) in The Hague's old city center has, over the years, been much more than just a church tower.
Accompanied by a guide, you'll climb the 288 steps (in total). We'll pause at each floor to share stories about the city, the tower, and the people who have climbed the staircase before you. Our climb concludes at the top of this Hague landmark, where you can enjoy 600 years of panoramic views from the Omloop.
